魔道の門/ dinosaurs fever

　本日から息子2は保育園ですが、息子1は夏風邪が完治しないので留め置き。ずっと家にいるのも暑いので、ちょっと図書館に行ってきました。
　ついでに、自分の読みたい本も．．．と思って「地理」のジャンルの書棚へ行くと、息子1が目ざとく見つけたのは恐竜の本。そうです、図書館分類では恐竜や古生物は地学コーナーなので、地理学のすぐそばなのですね。そして、大型本が多い恐竜ものは、子供の目に届きやすい最下段に．．．
　分厚い図鑑なども広げて、自分が読めそうな本を一生懸命探す彼の目にとまったのはこの一冊。さすが、お目が高い。徳川広和さんの作品をはじめ、フルカラーの綺麗な生態復元画や模型の数々．．．

　ちなみに、この本以外に息子1が借り出してきたのは、以下のようなラインナップです。ちなみに、図書館にある恐竜関係のDVDは総ナメで、もう何回見ているか分かりません。ナレーションを暗記してます。考古学などにうつつを抜かしている大人と同じにならないようにとママは警戒していますが、これは絶対に八ヶ岳方面からの強力なダーク・フォースが原因です。防ぎようがありません^^

　それはともかく、『恐竜の復元』に所収されている作家さんたちの作品は本当にすごいので、ぜひそれぞれのオンライン・ギャラリーを覗いてみてください。

なお、しばしば誤解されますが、考古学は恐竜を扱う学問ではありません!

I think all boys over the world should be crazy for dinosaurs. Aki is still fascinating to read picture books and to watch DVD on stories of dinosaurs. In the municipal library, we can rent various title of DVD. Aki (and Tomo) has already watched all available titles on dinosaurs those are 'Dinosaur Planet' series from discovery channel, other titles from 'National Geographic' or NHK (Japanese major broadcasting organization which produces a lot of scientific documentary programs like as BBC).

And today, when I was strolling in front of 'Geography' section in the library, Aki has found another treasures box for him. In Japanese library system (and may be same in other country, I guess), books of dinosaurs or other palaeontology are arranged in the section of 'Geology', next of 'Geography'. Aki was searching all over the shelf immediately to look for the book which contains rich illustrations. Then he took the one 'Life Restorations of Dinosaurs' which contains beautiful and impressive full-colour illustrations and pictures by Japanese and overseas illustrators and creators: those are Takashi Oda (illustrator); Ryoji Tabuchi (skeletal restoration modeler); Hirokazu Tokugawa (life restoration modeler); Gary Staab (life restoration modeler); Karen Carr (illustrator); Todd Marshall (illustrator); Tyler Keillor (life restoration modeler). This is exact exciting and wonderful volume, even for adults, however we, parents are anxious that who will read this 190 pages volume in the bed? Dinosaurs was nightmare for Cenozoic mammals, and is the cause of headache for present parents. *sigh...*
